We have worked with many large UK and European companies developing candle tins, coffee and tea tins, as well as producing mints in tins for the confectionery market. More unusual projects have included money box tins to help promote a range of cartoon DVDs and convenient zip tins to hold large numbers of CDs.

All tins can be embossed and printed with your design ideas, and many of our special projects have included bespoke inserts to make the presentation of your product really spectacular.

Our innovative use of tinplate has led to several industry awards. Here are a few case studies, which demonstrate the range of products and designs that are available:

The Cosmetics Container – Nivea Men

This was a special project commissioned by the client, who wanted a presentation tin to display a selection of male cosmetic products. The slip lid rectangular tin was litho printed in metallic blue to look really cool and contemporary, and a vacuum formed tray was designed to carry the corporate colours throughout. This also ensured a smart presentation of the products within. The tin lid was embossed with the company logo to complete the stylish appearance of this vibrant metal container.

Stationery Tins – Disney

This commission required a new shape of tin to be designed to match the dimensions of a DVD amaray case. The slip lid tin would be part of a double pack, held together with a sleeve. The commission of this activity set involved the production of 6 stationery items, which were placed inside the tins at the point of manufacture. These included branded items such as crayons, pencil, pencil sharpener, pencil eraser, notepad and activity sheets.

Multimedia Tins for the Film and Music Industry – Iron Maiden

This bespoke casket was a special project for Tinplate Products, and won an award in the “Best Promotional & Giftware” category at the MPMA Best-in-Metal Awards in 2003.

This was commissioned as a 25th Anniversary promotion for the band Iron Maiden, and our brief was to create a special CD tin to contain 3 discs, a scroll and a shot glass. The design needed to reflect their style, and so a tin was manufactured especially to fit the design brief. The Iron Maiden graphics were printed onto plain tinplate and the embossing completed the tin’s Gothic effect. Special commissions are also available for DVD tins and box sets.

James Bond DVD Tin Box

This metal box was created as a unique tin to hold 20 DVDs, the complete set at that time. The client wanted a minimal, contemporary look so used plain silver tinplate with embossing as the only design feature on the lid and body. Originally created with a minimal sales target the tin was well received by the market and ran for several years achieving sales in excess of 100,000.

Branded Trays and Ashtrays – Samuel Smith’s Brewery

For visible point-of-sale items, tin trays are long-lasting and durable. Also the print quality achieved on tinplate is far superior to that on plastic trays. For our client, Samuel Smith’s Brewery, we litho printed a range of round and square beer trays. Shallow beer trays provide good value and a practical way of making your brand highly visible in the catering and hospitality sectors.
